How can we help?

Find answers for setup, calling, subscriptions, caregiver access, and privacy. If you are stuck, contact a real person.

Getting Started

  1. Create or sign into your Boontel account.
  2. Follow onboarding to confirm your role and protection settings.
  3. Allow notifications so Boontel can show call and account updates.
  4. Allow microphone access when prompted for supported call features.
  5. Use the Guardian number shown in your account for supported inbound calls.
  6. Optionally follow the in-app call-forwarding guide to protect incoming calls to your existing carrier number.

Call Forwarding

Call forwarding lets people keep calling your existing carrier number while supported incoming calls pass through your Boontel Guardian number.

  1. In Boontel, open the guided forwarding setup and confirm the carrier for the number you want to protect.
  2. Review the generated forwarding ON and OFF codes. Carrier codes can vary, so compare them with your carrier’s instructions.
  3. Dial the ON code from the phone whose number you want to protect and wait for the carrier’s confirmation.
  4. Return to Boontel and run the forwarding check.
  5. Save the OFF code somewhere accessible in case you need to stop forwarding.

Important: Forwarding affects incoming calls only. Outbound calls and text messages continue through your carrier. Before signing out, deleting Boontel, or discontinuing service, disable forwarding with your carrier so incoming calls are not missed.

Calling & Screening

Boontel is for supported inbound calls to your Guardian number, including calls from your existing number when forwarding is active. It does not provide a general outbound dialer. If a call does not arrive:

  • Confirm the iPhone has internet access.
  • Open Boontel and confirm you are signed into the intended account.
  • Check that notifications are enabled in iPhone Settings.
  • If forwarding is off, confirm the caller is dialing your Guardian number.
  • If forwarding should be on, use Boontel’s forwarding check and confirm the setup with your carrier.
  • Restart the app, then ask the caller to try again.

Purchases & Restore

Subscriptions are purchased through Apple. Current localized prices and renewal terms appear in the App Store purchase sheet.

  • To restore: open the subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases.
  • Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase.
  • To manage or cancel: open iPhone Settings, select your Apple Account, then Subscriptions.
  • If Apple confirms the purchase but Boontel remains locked, email Support with your account email and approximate purchase time. Do not send payment credentials.

Caregiver Access

Caregiver access is invitation-based. The protected account controls linking and can remove access. Available activity, alerts, transcripts, or recordings depend on account settings and consent choices.

Privacy, Data Requests & Account Deletion

Review the Privacy Policy for processing and retention details. You can manage available privacy controls in the app.

To request access, correction, export, or deletion, email support@boontel.com from your account email with the subject “Boontel Privacy Request.” We may need to verify account ownership before acting.

Important Limitations

  • Boontel cannot guarantee that every scam will be detected.
  • Boontel is not a replacement for cellular or landline service.
  • Boontel does not support emergency calling to 911 or 988.
  • Call quality and delivery depend on internet and provider availability.
  • Recording and transcription must be used only with the required participant consent.
