Unfamiliar callers get screened. Nobody changes their number.

Boontel answers unfamiliar callers first, asks who they are and why they are calling, and flags pressure tactics while the call is happening. Nobody has to learn a new number or change how they make calls.

Creating an account is free and takes about a minute. You choose a plan later, in the iPhone app, where Apple shows the price before anything is charged.

Who are you setting this up for?

The setup is the same either way. What differs is who holds the account and who gets the alerts.

For a parent or relative

I want to protect someone I care about.

You create and hold the account, you help with the one-time setup, and you can be invited as their caregiver so you see alerts when a call looks wrong. They keep using their own phone exactly as they do today.

  • You manage billing and setup
  • They keep their number and their habits
  • You are notified about suspicious calls, with their permission

For yourself

I want to screen my own calls.

Same protection, no caregiver required. Unfamiliar callers are screened before your phone rings, and you get risk context during the call instead of having to judge a stranger on the spot.

  • You hold the account and the settings
  • Caregiver sharing stays off unless you turn it on
  • You can invite someone later if you want a second pair of eyes

Boontel protects supported inbound calls. It does not replace your cellular service or support emergency calling to 911 or 988.

Keep the number people already know.

During setup, Boontel assigns a nearby Guardian number. Optional call forwarding sends incoming calls from your existing carrier number through Guardian protection before they reach you.

  • Incoming calls to your existing number can be screened
  • Outbound calls and text messages stay with your carrier
  • Guided carrier setup includes ON and OFF codes
  • Boontel checks whether forwarding is working

Forwarding is optional. Carrier support and codes vary, so confirm the instructions with your carrier. Keep your OFF code available.

1
Your Existing Number

Friends, family, and businesses keep calling the number they already have.

2

Supported incoming calls pass through screening and protection.

3
Your iPhone

You receive the call with useful context and supported risk guidance.

Nothing changes for outgoing calls or texts. Continue using your carrier and the iPhone Phone and Messages apps.

Protection before, during, and after a call.

Boontel focuses on the moments when a small piece of context can prevent a costly mistake.

01 — Before

Screen unfamiliar callers

Callers to your Guardian number—or your existing number when forwarding is enabled—can be asked who they are and why they are calling.

02 — During

Spot pressure tactics

During supported calls, Boontel can flag impersonation, urgent payment requests, code harvesting, and other suspicious cues.

03 — After

Review what happened

See call activity and available summaries according to the privacy and retention choices enabled on your account.

Context before you pick up.

Unknown callers can be screened for identity and intent. You decide whether the call should continue with more information than a phone number alone can provide.

  • Caller identity and purpose captured before ringing
  • Clear guidance for suspicious requests
  • No outbound dialer or emergency-call confusion

A call history that explains risk.

Boontel separates routine activity from calls that deserve attention, with understandable labels instead of a wall of technical data.

  • Protected call and voicemail activity in one place
  • Risk context for suspicious or spoofed callers
  • Simple navigation designed for clarity

Help from someone you trust.

Caregiver access is invitation-based and controlled by the protected account. Available alerts and call details follow the account’s sharing and retention settings.

Invite-Only

A trusted caregiver must be linked through the Boontel account. Access can be removed.

Useful Context

Caregivers can review supported alerts and call activity instead of relying on second-hand details.

Common questions.

Boontel reduces risk; it cannot guarantee that every scam will be detected.

Does Boontel replace my existing phone service?

No. Boontel assigns a Guardian number for supported inbound calls. You can optionally forward incoming calls from your existing carrier number to it. Outbound calls and text messages continue through your carrier, and emergency calls must use your carrier service.

Do I need to give everyone a new phone number?

Not if your carrier supports call forwarding. The Boontel app guides you through forwarding incoming calls from your existing number to your Guardian number. Carrier support and codes vary, and forwarding remains optional.

Does Boontel record every call?

No. Recording is off by default. Transcription, recording, retention, and caregiver sharing follow the controls available in your account and applicable consent requirements.

Can Boontel catch every scam?

No safety tool can catch every scam. Boontel looks for common risk patterns and provides context to help you make a safer decision.

How do I restore a subscription?

Open Boontel’s subscription screen and choose Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple Account that made the original purchase. Visit Support if the entitlement does not appear.
